1912 |
The
Jeannot family purchases Muskegon Steel Casting Company from the City of
Muskegon. The Company is named
West Michigan Steel Foundry. |
| 1921 |
Park
Chemical Company purchases Eagle Foundry and Machine and West Michigan
Steel Foundry. The joint
public company now does business under the name of West Michigan Steel Foundry. |
| 1932 |
West
Michigan Steel Foundry purchases Austin Machinery. |

WWI I |
The Company is expanded and used in the production of military
vehicles. |
 |
| 1963 |
Due to the dynamic growth in the
production of products for the semi-tractor and trailer industry, the
Company’s name is changed to Westran Corporation. |

1970 |
Westran
builds the first state-of-the-art shell molding facility in Muskegon,
Michigan. |
1976 |
Westran begins manufacturing
actuator valves in addition to commercial steel castings and
transportation products. The Company is now comprised of the metals group,
transportation products group, and the valve components group.  |

1985 |
The Muskegon Cast Metals facility is sold to
management.
The Company’s name is changed to West Michigan Steel Foundry. |

TIC
United Corporation of Dallas, Texas purchases West Michigan Steel Foundry. |

1999

TIC
United Corporation invests approximately $9 million to modernize
the Muskegon plant’s equipment and technology. |

2002 |
August
2, West Michigan Steel Foundry is sold to Michigan
Steel, Inc. A new company is
formed:
